Gingerbread Competition

So here's the deal...the gingerbread competition was a hit! We had about 10 entries and lots of ppl there just enjoying the event. We played games, decorated ornaments and cookies, and just did a lot of laughing! the creations were actually given to the seniors in the county as their holiday decorations for their party...and then they were given as door prizes! Over 60 seniors enjoyed them!!!! Way to go guys!!! 4-H really outdid itself this year! Hopefully we can make this bigger next year! it was a blast!!!!!!

From the 4-H Staff and Extension Staff have a happy holiday! Eat lots of food..and have lots of fun! and get ready for 2008!!! it is going to be a great year...first up...our 2008 4-H Fitness Day!!!

Holiday fun and giving back!

So here's some great news....we will be giving back to the community this year through our county gingerbread competition. We'll have gingerbread masterpieces created by Stokes 4-H'ers and then those will be donated to Senior Services in Stokes County! These gifts will spread some holiday joy!!! If you want to sign up it's not too late!!! contact the office...and get ready on December 13 to have fun...drink some cider, decorate cookies, listen to music, play some games and just have fun with friends!!! I'll see you there!

camp in the summer

So are you ready to go to camp with us this coming year? We are going to go to Camp Millestone the week of July 4 in 2008! It will be a great week! If you are between the ages of 8-14 and would like to go to camp with the county this year, contact the office so we can get your name on the list...the office number is 336-593-8179! Sleeping at the zoo

This weekend I slept on a cold floor for no other reason but to hang out with 3 awesome teens from Stokes! We did a safari trip at the Asheboro zoo on Sat night and then toured the zoo on Sunday.

We had a blast....listened to some music in what they have now named the "rolling pellet" and then we ate some awesome Arby's and Wendy's. At the zoo we got up-close-and-personal wtih a giraffe and did a neat craft making paper beads. We took some great pics..and met 4-H'ers from other counties!

then we walked the entire zoo on Sunday...saw some great animals then waved at everyone on the way back to Stokes County!

I was pretty pleased with the trip...but next time we should take more people...it was a good time! Well I better go...have a great day all!

So teens in Stokes....do you get bored and want cool things to do? Well....let me know! I have some ideas, but I'm not a teen anymore :( (sad face).....I need to know what you like doing...

Stokes helping others

so Stokes County is working on helping others in the community. one way we are going to do that is by designing gingerbread houses and donating them to the seniors in the county for christmas decorations....check out the stokes website to find out more details...get a team together and make a cool gingerbread design!

Stokes County 4-H is becoming more up-to-date and accessible to everyone of all ages! We are opening 4-H to the world of technology. If you are interested in helping with this new technology push, then contact Stokes County 4-H, and we'll move into the technological world!
